Cursor can use appleai.codes when you provide an externally reachable OpenAI-compatible base URL and your API key.

  • macOS: Use the desktop app settings UI
  • Linux: Use the same settings flow if your Cursor build exposes custom providers
  • Windows: Use the desktop app settings UI, or WSL only if your workflow is actually running there

Setup steps

  1. Open Cursor Settings.
  2. Go to Models or Model Providers.
  3. Enable the OpenAI-compatible provider flow.
  4. Set the base URL to https://api.appleai.codes/v1.
  5. Paste YOUR_APPLEAI_API_KEY.
  6. Add the routed model path you want to use, such as anthropic/claude-sonnet-4 or openai/gpt-5.
  • Use the full https://api.appleai.codes/v1 URL, not just the host
  • Make sure Cursor can reach the endpoint from your network
  • Keep the model path identical to the route you validated with curl

When to use another guide

If your Cursor build does not expose custom provider settings, switch to a tool with a direct config file or use the MITM-only tools flow.
