Claude Code works well when you point its Anthropic-compatible settings at appleai.codes.

Install Claude Code

macOS and Linux

npm install -g @anthropic-ai/claude-code

Run claude once so the config directory exists, then update ~/.claude/settings.json.

Windows PowerShell

npm install -g @anthropic-ai/claude-code

Run claude once so the config directory exists, then update %USERPROFILE%\.claude\settings.json.

What to verify

ANTHROPIC_BASE_URL points at https://api.appleai.codes/v1
ANTHROPIC_AUTH_TOKEN contains a valid appleai.codes API key
Your default model aliases map to routed model paths that your account can use

Launch

claude

On Windows, run the same claude command in PowerShell. If Claude Code starts but cannot create a session, recheck the API key, the config file path for your OS, and the default Sonnet model mapping first.
